PostHeaderIcon Mock Draft (2-7-2011)

After The Super Bowl, Official Draft Order

1. Carolina Panthers- Nick Fairley, DT, Auburn

I think Andrew Luck going back to school really hurts Carolina as they would have had their elite franchise QB for the next several years. That is the hardest position to find an elite player. Farley is elite in his own right though. He dominated in the SEC which is the toughest conference in the NCAA. He was unblockable and came up biggest in the biggest game of the year which is what you want for your star players. Fairley can do it all, stuff the run, rush the passer, and commands double teams which will free up other defenders. Opposing coordinators are going to have to game plan around him.

2. Denver Broncos- DaQuan Bowers, DE, Clemson

John Fox is now the head coach in Denver which means they will be switching to a 4-3 defense. They don't have quite the correct personnel for that system which means they need to bring in some defenders, especially in the front seven. That means Denver should take whichever is left out of Fairley and Bowers. Fox drafted Julius Peppers when he got to Carolina, and although Bowers isn't quite on Peppers level, Fox will be looking for that elite pass rusher again and teaming up Bowers with Elvis Dumervil could give them the best pass rushing duo in the NFL.

3. Buffalo Bills- Von Miller, OLB, Texas A&M

Buffalo is attempting to switch to a 3-4 defense. It's debatable who the best pass rusher is that fits that system between Miller and Robert Quinn playing OLB. Both look to be very good pass rushers in the NFL, but Quinn was suspended for the entire 2010 system and I don't think anyone is going to take him within the top five. The Bills drafted Maybin to be their elite pass rusher a couple years ago, but he hasn't lived up to expectations and isn't a good fit in a 3-4 defense.

4. Cincinnati Bengals- AJ Green, WR, Georgia

It's no coincidence that Carson Palmer had his best games of the year when Chad and TO were out of the lineup. The young WR's were actually in the right spot. If I'm running the Bengals neither Chad or TO are coming back next season. You don't win with players that don't play as team players and are more worried about TV show than playing football.

Green is the best WR to come out since Calvin Johnson and I have him rated the exact same as Calvin. He can do it all as a WR. He has excellent speed for his good size. His route running is very good for the little amount of experience that he has. He can stretch the field and use his body to shield defenders on the short routes. He does a good job getting seperation from defenders. He can make the acrobatic catches, he made one of the best one handed catches this past season that I've ever seen.

I'm a firm believer that you build the lines to win, but drafting Green will give the Bengals a special talent at WR and one of the best, if not the best, group of WR's/TE's in the NFL. It will also allow Carson to be a true leader with young WR's that are hungry and will also listen to him.

5. Arizona Cardinals- Robert Quinn, DE/OLB, North Carolina

Quinn and Von Miller are by far the best two OLB pass rushers that fit in a 3-4 defense. The Cardinals despretely need an edge pass rusher and Quinn's athleticism may make them take a chance on him this early despite the character issues with him being suspended. Last year they brought in the over the hill, loud mouth, Joey Porter to be that pass rusher but he's done and didn't work out. The Cards also need a QB, but Wisenhunt is on the hot seat and isn't going to put his job in the hands of a rookie QB. Look for them to go after a veteran like McNabb, Orton, or Kobb.

6. Cleveland Browns- Marcell Dareus, DT/DE, Alabama

The Browns really need a WR, but I doubt Holmgren will reach for one with this high of a pick when he's never taken one in the first round. The Browns are also switching to a 4-3 and lack the personnel up front on defense. Dareus is the best lineman with versatility and can play DE or DT depending on the down and distance and will create favorable match ups for him.

7. San Francisco 49ers- Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU

The Niners need a QB, but I don't think Jim Harbaugh is going to reach for Blaine Gabbert here, especially if Peterson is still on the board. Some argue Peterson is the best player in this draft and would be a steal here at a position of need for SF. There are a lot of peices in place on D in SF and getting Peterson could vault them into elite status on defense.

8. Tennessee Titans- Blaine Gabbert, QB, Missouri

The Titans have a new coach and lots of times new coaches mean new QB's. Gabbert is the best QB in this draft and has risen up draft boards since Andrew Luck announced he's going back to shcool. The Titans need a QB as Kerry Collins is the only viable QB on their roster and he's old.

9. Dallas Cowboys- Nate Solder, OT, Colorado

Solder solidified himself as the top offensive lineman in th is draft after his excellent week at the Senior Bowl. The Cowboys offensive line struggled this past season starting week one when they had a game winning TD called back due to a holding penalty. It continued with them getting Romo's collarbone broken through the rest of the year.

10. Washington Redskins- Cameron Jordan, DT/DE, California

The Redskins need some help up front, especially after the Albert Haynesworth side show they had in Washington last season. They also need a QB, but I don't see them pulling the trigger on Cam Newton with this high of a pick.

11. Houston Texans- Prince Amukamara, CB, Nebraska

For the Texans this draft shouldn't involve many tough choices in atleast the first three rounds. They brought in Wade Phillips to be defensive coordinator and they need to take the best player that fits his system. Their secondary was particularly awful and here they have a chance to get one of the two elite CB's in this draft. They need as many good cover guys as they can get with Peyton Manning in their divsion.

12. Minnesota Vikings- Cam Newton, QB, Auburn

As soon as Newton announced he was going to the NFL I was thinking he ends up a Viking. The Vikings have a lot of peices in place and don't need Newton to be an elite pocket passer. They just need him to use his athleticism and make just enough plays for them to win and not turn the ball over.

13. Detroit Lions- Tyron Smith, OT, USC

The Lions need help on defense especially in the secondary. A bigger problem they have is they can't keep their franchise QB healthy. They need to upgrade their offensive line across the board for the most part. Smith probably is the most athletic Tackle in this draft and could protect Stafford's blind side for years to come.

14. St. Louis Rams- Julio Jones, WR, Alabama

The Rams have a bright future with Sam Bradford at QB, who had a great season for a rookie QB. They also have a talented young group of WR's. The only thing they are missing is a legit number one WR. Jones gives them that as a big strong fast physical WR that reminds me of Anquan Boldin in his prime.

15. Miami Dolphins- Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama

Ronnie Brown probably won't be back in Miami next season and Ricky Williams is too old to be a feature back. Ingram is the only RB in this draft that is worth using a first round pick. He can also carry the entire load if he needs to. With how much the Dolphins run the ball they need an elite RB as that's their best way to beat the Patriots in that division is run and control the clock.

16. Jacksonville Jaguars- Aldon Smith, DE, Missouri

The Jaguars play the pass happy Colts and Texans twice each year, that's a quarter of their season. If they can't stop the pass it'll be tough for them to ever beat either of those teams. They signed Kampman last off season and he blew out his knee before the season started leaving them with a need for a pass rusher.

17. New England Patriots- Cameron Heyward, DT/DE, Ohio State

I think Heyward played himself into the top twenty picks with his performance in the Sugar Bowl. The Patriots were below average on defense last year and need upgrades everywhere. Belicheck is probably the smartest coach in the NFL and knows to win it starts up front.

18. San Diego Chargers- Akeem Ayers, OLB, UCLA

The Chargers have needed an elite pass rusher since they made Shawn Merriman stop taking steroids. They drafted Larry English two years ago to be that guy and he hasn't lived up to expectations.

19. New York Giants- Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin

The Giants starting five on their offensive line has been together forever and are getting a little long in the tooth. I think Eli Manning didn't trust that line and hurried throws resulting in all those interceptions. Carimi just seems like he fits right in on that line as a road grader run blocker and above average pass blocker. Carimi is also probably the most NFL ready player in this draft.

20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- JJ Watt, DE, Wisconsin

I love what the Bucs did in last year's draft, taking McCoy and Price, two DT's, in the first two rounds. Now they need to get someone on the end of that line and if they can get Watt they have the makings of one of the most dominant young defensive lines in the NFL.

21. Kansas City Chiefs- Jonathon Baldwin, WR, Pittsburgh

The Chiefs were unable to get the ball to Bowe, their best playmaker, at all during their playoff game against the Ravens. That's due to the fact they have no one else that the Ravens had to worry about. Baldwin has all the physical tools to be a legit number one WR in the NFL. He did have a down year at Pitt but that was more due to horrible QB play than his play.

22. Indianapolis Colts- Mike Pouncey, OC/OG, Florida

The Colts offensive line struggled big time this past season. Especially on their interior as teams were getting pressure right up the middle. Pouncey can play Guard until Saturday decides to retire and then take over at Center. Pouncey will help keep Peyton Manning protected and help that awful running game. When you have Manning on your team you should keep your offensive line loaded with depth and talent and Manning will win you Super Bowls.

23. Philadelphia Eagles- Anthony Costanzo, OT, Boston College

Andy Reid loves to draft offensive lineman early and often. This year it fits a need with the Eagles. The Eagles have the most illusive QB in the history of the NFL and he still got sacked a ton. If they can get him a good, athletic line their offense could be scary good.

24. New Orleans Saints- Corey Liuget, DT, Illinois

The Saints could use an upgrade at DT next to Sedric Ellis or at DE across from Will Smith. At this point Liuget could be a steal as he's not rated far behind Fairley as a pure Defensive Tackle. Liuget is a good run stuffer and will be a good complement next to Ellis who is more of a pass rusher.

25. Seattle Seahawks- Jake Locker, QB, Washington

I think Carroll wants his guy at QB in Seattle and neither Hasselback or Whitehurst are that guy This pick would certainly be a fan favorite in Seattle. Locker struggled this year but he still has all the tools to be a good NFL QB. He just needs some development and this could be a perfect situation if they can bring back Hasselback for a year or two and let Locker sit behind him and learn.

26. Baltimore Ravens- Brandon Harris, CB, Miami

The Ravens have needed an upgrade at both CB spots for a few years now. CB's are becoming more and more of a premium in today's NFL with all the pass happy teams. The Ravens had trouble closing teams out this year as they were able to throw on them in the 4th Quarter.

27. Atlanta Falcons- Adrian Clayborn, DE, Iowa

John Abraham looked gassed in the second half of Atlanta's playoff game against the Packers. On the other end of that defensive line the Falcons could use an upgrade over Anderson who has been a bust. At the minimum Clayborn will give them another player to rotate in and keep Abraham fresh.

28. New England Patriots- Justin Houston, OLB, Georgia

The Patriots have needed an elite pass rusher for quite a few years now. Houston will give them a presense coming off the edge that can get after the QB. Between their two first round picks the Pats should be able to upgrade their pass rush and make them the early favorites to win it all next season.

29. Chicago Bears- Derek Sherrod, OT, Mississippi State

The Bears offensive line was inconsistant all last season and it's amazing they made the NFC Championship Game. Some games Forte had nowhere to run and other games Cutler was getting killed in the pocket. Other than Center the Bears need upgrades across the board on the offensive line.

30. New York Jets- Phil Taylor, DT, Baylor

Taylor had a great week at the Senior Bowl and proved himself head and shoulders above any other Nose Tackle in this draft. Kris Jenkins has been injured the previous two seasons and teams haven't had as hard of a time running the ball against the Jets.

31. Pittsburgh Steelers- Benjamin Ijalana, OT/OG, Villanova

The Steelers offensive line was decimated by injury last season and really haven't been very good the past several years. Ijalana is the most versatile lineman in this draft being able to play both Tackle and Guard and the Steelers need help at both spots. There's no way they're going to count on Flozell Adams to be their starter next season at RT.

32. Green Bay Packers- Ryan Kerrigan, DE/OLB, Purdue

The Packers had a ton of injuries last season and still won the Super Bowl. That tells you they have a ton of depth. They also don't have many pressing team needs. That should allow them to take the best player on the board and best value which is Kerrigan at this point. Kerrigan could play opposite Clay Matthews on passing downs and give them another dynamic pass rusher. The Packers will be playing with the lead often and will need multiple pass rushers as teams will be forced to throw on them.

2nd Round

33. New England Patriots- Aaron Williams, CB, Texas

This is basically the Patriots third first round pick. If they take the best available CB here that will give them an upgrade on all three levels of the defense. You can't have to many good CB's in today's NFL and this will basically give them two first round CB's.

34. Buffalo Bills- Ryan Mallett, QB, Arkansas

The Bills have already announced that Ryan Fitzpatrick will be their starting QB in 2011 and he deserves to be as he played well last year. That being said Fitzpatrick is not a franchise QB that will take you to the Super Bowl. Mallett could be as he can make all the throws, has good arm strength, and good accuracy. He just needs to develop his footwork and throwing under pressure.

35. Cincinnati Bengals- Rahim Moore, FS, UCLA

Moore is the top Safety in this draft class and is the ball hawking, centerfielder, type of Safety the Bengals have been missing for years. Getting a Safety like Moore will allow the CB's to play more agressive as they won't have to fear a liability in coverage behind them and will allow Zimmer to be more creative in his play calling and game planning. I know the lines need to be built but Moore is the best value left on the board and fills a major need.

36. Denver Broncos- Stephen Paea, DT, Oregon State

If Paea didn't have knee surgery recently he would likely be a first round pick. The guy is a physical freak with how strong he is and is going to be a handful for offensive lineman to try to handle. The Broncos are switching to a 4-3 and need to bring in the right type of players to fit that system, especially up front.

37. Cleveland Browns- Leonard Hankerson, WR, Miami

Hankerson is the most underrated player in this draft in my opinion. He has all the physical tools to be a legit number one WR. Cleveland may have the worst group of WR's in the NFL and Hankerson would be an immediate upgrade as a weapon for their young QB Colt McCoy.

38. Arizona Cardinals- Danny Watkins, OG, Baylor

The Cardinals have one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL. They are likely going to bring in a new QB and will need to get some protection for him. They also have some talented RB's that get no blocking ahead of them.

39. Tennessee Titans- Rodney Hudson, OC, Florida State

The Titans decided not to bring back Kevin Mawea before last season. That left them with a hole at Center. Hudson is one of the more athletic Center's in this draft and has the ability to get out on LB's quickly.

40. Dallas Cowboys- Jimmy Smith, CB, Colorado

Terrance Newman is getting old and losing his best asset, his track star speed. Mike Jenkins is a pathetic excuse for a football player. He moved out of the way of a tackle on national television letting the ball carrier walk into the end zone untouched. An upgrade at CB is in order.

41. Washington Redskins- Titus Young, WR, Boise State

The Redskins have a desperate need for a playmaker on the outside at WR. Young had a great week at the Senior Bowl, really rising his stock. He has great speed and is being compared to DeSean Jackson.

42. Houston Texans- Jeremy Beal, DE/OLB, Oklahoma

Beal may not end up posting the best numbers at the combine, but if you watch an Oklahoma game the guy simply made a ton of plays. He would be a good fit as a pass rusher coming off the edge, lined up on the same side as Mario Williams.

43. Minnesota Vikings- Mason Foster, OLB, Washington

The Vikings need upgrades at both OLB spots. Teams were able to run on them last season and TE's posted big numbers as they had no LB's that could cover them. With Green Bay having Finley in their division, along with Pettigrew in Detroit, and Olsen in Chicago they need to add an OLB early.

44. Detroit Lions- Curtis Brown, CB, Texas

The Lions need CB's and offensive lineman in this draft. Whichever way they go in the first round they should go opposite in the second. The right move would be to go O line then take the CB in the 2nd as there are a ton of CB's with 2nd round grades.

45. San Francisco 49ers- Kyle Rudolph, TE, Notre Dame

I don't think SF is going to get their QB of the future in this draft. What they can do is get the peices in place for next year. A young QB's best friend is a good TE that can catch. Rudolph is the best in this draft.

46. Denver Broncos- Brandon Burton, CB, Utah

Champ Bailey may not be back in Denver next season and even if he is he's getting a little long in the tooth. Across from him an upgrade would be needed anyway with Phillip Rivers and SD's passing game being the class of that division.

47. St. Louis Rams- John Moffitt, OG, Wisconsin

The Rams need to keep building around Sam Bradford. An upgrade at Guard is needed and Stephen Jackson will like this pick as well, getting a road grader up front to clear some holes for him.

48. Oakland Raiders- Ras I Dowling, CB, Virginia

Nmandi Asomoagh is now an unrestricted free agent and I don't see him returning to Oakland unless they franchise tag him. If he leaves there will be a gaping hole at CB. Oakland doesn't have a first round pick and should take advantage of one of these second round CB's as there will be a bunch of CB's coming off the board in the second. As many as eight CB's could come off the board this round.

49. Jacksonville Jaguars- Quinton Carter, FS, Oklahoma

Carter had an excellent week at the Senior Bowl, really showing off his ability to cover. I wouldn't be suprised or opposed if the Bengals took him in the second and he could end up being the first Safety off the board.

50. San Diego Chargers- Allen Bailey, DE, Miami

Even though the Chargers defense was ranked towards the top of the NFL in total yards allowed they weren't as good as that ranking. They played a cupcake schedule and a lot of ball control teams that didn't put up a ton of yards. They need an upgrade at DE and both of their current starters are free agents that they should let walk anyway.

51. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Bruce Carter, OLB, North Carolina

Black the Bucs starting OLB is a free agent and his play has been below average anyway. The Bucs haven't had a solid presense at LB since Derrick Brooks. Carter may have gone higher had he not been suspended in 2010.

52. New York Giants- Ryan Williams, RB, Virginia Tech

Brandon Jacobs was not happy with his role as a back up to Ahmad Bradshaw last year and may not be back in NY next season. Bradshaw can't stay healthy for an entire season. The Giants need a big back like Williams that can carry the entire load if necessary.

53. Indianapolis Colts- Drake Nevis, DT, LSU

The Colts couldn't run the ball or stop the run in 2010. Although a bit undersized Nevis can hold his own against the run and can get after the QB. As long as Peyton Manning is still playing the Colts will be playing with the lead a lot of the time and need defensive lineman that can get after the QB.

54. Philadelphia Eagles- Johnny Patrick, CB, Louisville

The Eagles were torched by the pass many times last season. They play in a division that has many good WR's and need as many good cover guys as they can get. Their best CB is the overrated Asante Samuel and need upgrades immediately.

55. Kansas City Chiefs- Brooks Reed, DE/OLB, Arizona

The Chiefs have a lot of young talent on defense and their fans should be excited as they seem set up to be good for years to come. They are missing that second pass rusher across from Tamba Hali that can make teams pay for paying too much attention to Hali.

56. New Orleans Saints- Mikel Leshoure, RB, Illinois

Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush can't stay healthy for an entire season between the two of them put together. They can not continue to win by picking up players off the streets and playing them that weekend.

57. Seattle Seahawks- Kendrick Burney, CB, North Carolina

In both the Seahawks playoff games they were lit up through the air. Even though they beat the Saints, Brees threw for over 400 yards and Cutler looked like an all pro against them. They have one good player in their secondary, the rookie Earl Thomas.

58. Baltimore Ravens- Muhammad Wilkerson, DE/DT, Temple

This could end up being a steal for the Ravens, some have Wilkerson as a late first round pick. I don't think he's quite that good but will be an upgrade next to Ngata. The Ravens have had a good defense for years but they haven't been quite as dominant against the run as they used to. It used to be impossible to run on them.

59. Atlanta Falcons- Torrey Smith, WR, Maryland

It's amazing that Roddy White has put up the numbers that he has with absolutely no help at the WR position. Smith will be a major upgrade over Jenkins and looks to be a perfect fit as a number two WR that can make teams pay if they don't pay enough attention to him.

60. New England Patriots- Stefen Wisniewski, OC/OG, Penn State

Neal the current Patriots Center announced that 2011 will be his final year. In fact the entire offensive line is getting old in New England. Wisniewski can play opposite Logan Mankins at Guard for a season then take over at Center in 2012.

61. San Diego Chargers- Christian Ballard, DT/DE, Iowa

Like I said earlier both the Chargers DE's are unresticted free agents. Both of them played below average also. Ballard is a better fit in a 3-4 at DE in my opinion.

62. Chicago Bears- Marvin Austin, DT, North Carolina

The Bears defensive line got a lot of praise last year, but mainly it was Julius Peppers carrying that line and teams focusing on Urlacher that caused the defense to be good. Tommie Harris lost his starting job and the Bears need to add someone at DT.

63. Pittsburgh Steelers- Rashad Carmicheal, CB, Virginia Tech

The Steelers mediocre secondary was exposed against the Patriots and Packers last season. Teams that spread it out and throw the ball. Look for Pittsburgh to add some CB's this off season. Imagine how bad their secondary would be if they didn't have Polumalu.

64. Green Bay Packers- Demarcus Love, OT, Arkansas

Love is an above average pass blocker and will be good to add depth behind the aging Chad Clifton at LT. When you have Aaron Rodgers or any elite QB you should be looking to add depth to your offensive line fairly early in every draft. Especially when you're coming off a Super Bowl win and don't have alot of needs. Especially when you won that Super Bowl with 14 players on the IR and three more key players went out during the Super Bowl.

PostHeaderIcon The Super Bowl

It's a little over 24 hours until the kickoff of Super Bowl 45 and I started thinking, what's it going to take for the Bengals to get there? Coming off of a 4-12 season you would think a lot, but I don't think they are missing that many pieces and could be a lot closer than you think. One thing it's definitely going to take is good QB play.

Every Bengals fan knows that Carson Palmer wants to be traded. I honestly don't think he does want traded, I just think he knows his career is half over and he wants change and the opportunity to win it all and that won't happen here without some change. Despite what he said about not wanting Bratkowski fired, I think he definitely did want him out. Brat's offense was stale and predictable and the firing was long overdue. I'm excited about the Jay Gruden hiring. I'm glad they didn't bring in a re-tread. Young coaches eager to prove themselves can work out better if they have they know how. This guy comes from a family of football coaches and has almost twenty years of experience as an assistant coach. Every coach comes from somewhere, they don't just start out as coordinators or head coaches.

What needs to happen next is no more Chad and TO. You don't win championships with sideshows like that on your team. They are not commited to winning or even to the team. They do their own thing out there and it showed. Carson had his best games of the season when they were out of the lineup and that's no coincidence. The young WR Simpson was in the right spots and Carson put the ball on the money. Simpson looked really good and could be an excellent WR in the NFL, look at his size, hands, and athleticism. It's as good as any WR in the NFL.

There are some young peices in place on the offense. Simpson could be as good as any number two WR in the NFL next season if given the opportunity. Shipley led all rookies in 3rd down receptions and looks to be the best slot WR in the NFL outside of Wes Welker. Gresham is a match up nightmare for opposing defenses with his size and speed, no LB or Safety in the league can cover him. I think they are going to have the opportunity to draft AJ Green, who is the best WR prospect since Calvin Johnson, and is right there on Johnson's level. That is a legit number one that the Bengals have been missing since Chad was in his prime and actually cared. If you add Green to the current group you have the best young WR/TE core in the NFL and the makings of an explosive offense.

The best part is these young WR's will be hungry to make a name for themselves and will actually listen to Carson and let him be their leader. This could rejuvenate Palmer's career and get him back to the 2005 form. If he can get anywhere close to that level and you have that group of WR's the offense will be tough to stop. The biggest problem will be with a QB like Palmer you have to have a good offensive line due to his lack of mobility. Upgrades will be needed at LG and probably RT unless Andre Smith can get his act together. So far I've seen nothing to show that he will, but who knows if he actually has a training camp. They are going to have to go out and get a free agent at LG and that's fine as Guard's are usually relatively cheap on the free agent market. If you can get a good Guard then the offense could be Super Bowl ready within two years.

On defense the pieces are definitely in place. Domata Peko, Geno Atkins, Pat Sims, Carlos Dunlap, Micheal Johnson, Keith Rivers, Rey Maualuga, Leon Hall, Jonathon Joseph, and Brandon Johnson are all promising young players that are under the age of thirty. All but one or two of these players have pro bowl potential. There are good players on every level of that defense. There are a couple missing pieces though and that is a Safety that is a ball hawk, that can play that centerfield type of role for the defense. The other is a dominant run stuffer next to Peko. A dominant defensive line in a 4-3 defense can win you a Super Bowl, just ask the Giants from a few years ago that beat an undefeated Patriots team in the Super Bowl. I think there are two promising pass rushers in Dunlap and Micheal Johnson. Dunlap looks to be the elite pass rusher this team has been missing for years and MJ is an athletic freak that can also get after the QB. They need another big run stuffer to team up with Peko and make it impossible to run against them. Then they just need the depth, if they can get a good eight man rotation they can be tough to score against.

So overall the team isn't that many pieces of the puzzle away from being a Super Bowl contender. If they draft AJ Green, like I think they're going to then they are a couple offensive lineman and defensive lineman away from having a good to dominant team on both sides of the ball. I think the offense is a little further away than the defense is, especially with Mike Zimmer calling the shots on defense. There aren't many teams that had as bad of a record as the Bengals did that are this close to being a legit contender and having that bad record gets the Bengals a higher pick to get those elite players coming out in the draft.

PostHeaderIcon Mock Draft (2-3-2011)

3 Days Until The Super Bowl

1. Carolina Panthers- Nick Fairley, DT, Auburn

Nick Fairley was unblockable at Auburn and that was in the SEC the best conference in the country. He came up biggest in the biggest game of all the National Championship Game, which is what you want from your best players. He can do it all, penetrate and blow up running plays and get after the QB. Fairley is a game changer and opponents are going to have to game plan around him which will limit what opposing offenses can do.

2. Denver Broncos- DaQuan Bowers, DE, Clemson

John Fox is now the head coach in Denver. He had Julius Peppers in Carolina and he's going to want that elite pass rusher in Denver as well. Bowers isn't quite on the level of Peppers athletically, but he will have Elvis Dumervil across from him and will form one of if not the best pass rushing duo in the NFL.

3. Buffalo Bills- Robert Quinn, DE/OLB, North Carolina

The Bills are trying to convert to the 3-4 defense. They drafted Aaron Maybin a couple of years ago and he hasn't lived up to expectations as a pass rusher. He also isn't a good fit as a rush LB in a 3-4. With Tom Brady in your division the Bills need that pass rusher and Quinn is the most athletic, has the most promise, as a 3-4 OLB.

4. Cincinnati Bengals- AJ Green, WR, Georgia

I am a firm believer of building the lines to win in the NFL, or any football for that matter. If Fairley is somehow available then he is the pick here without question. Since he isn't and there isn't an offensive lineman worth the pick here I'd go with AJ Green. The Bengals need to get rid of Chad and don't resign TO. It's no coincidence that Palmer had his best game when they were out of the lineup. The WR's actually were in the right spots and Palmer dominated.

Green is the best WR prospect to come out since Calvin Johnson and is right up there on that level. He can do it all, he has a great size speed combination. He has excellent hands and his route running is very good for how little experience he has. He can go up over defenders and get the ball. He can stretch the field vertically or run the short routes and use his big body to shield defenders from the ball. He does a great job setting up defenders and creating seperation. There's nothing he can't do.

Getting Green will give the Bengals that legit number 1 WR they haven't had since Chad was in his prime. If you add him to Shipley, Simpson, and Gresham you have the best young group of WR's/TE's in the NFL and the makings of an explosive offense.

5. Arizona Cardinals- Von Miller, OLB, Texas A&M

Miller has been flying up people's draft boards after the Senior Bowl this week. I've had him in the top 10 all along. Other than Quinn he is the best pass rusher at OLB for a 3-4 defense. The Cards do need a QB, but Wisenhunt is on the hot seat and will not take a rookie QB to start this year. I think you'll see McNabb or Orton in Arizona next season.

6. Cleveland Browns- Marcell Dareus, DE/DT, Alabama

The Browns will be switching to a 4-3 defense and need to bolster that defensive line. Dareus is a versatile lineman that can play about anywhere on the line. They can play him at DE on running downs and DT on passing downs creating favorable match ups on every down. The Browns really need a WR but if Green isn't available I don't think they will reach for a WR with this high of a pick.

7. San Francisco 49ers- Blaine Gabbert, QB, Missouri

There's a new head coach in SF and new coaches mean new QB's, especially when they don't have a viable QB on that roster. To win it all in the NFL you need a good QB and Jim Harbaugh will take the best QB in this draft.

8. Tennessee Titans- Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU

The Titans have needed a CB across from Cortland Finnegan for quite some time. Peterson will be the best player on the board if he's still available at this point. When you have pass happy teams like the Colts and Texans you need as many good cover guys as you can get. Especially with elite WR's like Andre Johnson and Reggie Wayne as your opponents.

9. Dallas Cowboys- Nate Solder, OT, Colorado

The Cowboys offensive line struggled starting week one when they had a game winning TD called back due to a holding penalty. It continued with them getting Tony Romo a broken collarbone right through the rest of the season. Solder has emerged as the best OT prospect with his dominant Senior Bowl week.

10. Washington Redskins- Cam Newton, QB, Auburn

The Redskins need a QB, they're not going to go into the season with Rex Grossman as their starter. Someone is going to take a chance on Newton in the top ten. Shanahan is cocky enough to think he can turn Newton into a winning NFL QB and why not with that skill set. He can run like Vince Young but he's a much better passer than Young. With his skill set he doesn't need to be an elite pocket passer to win games.

11. Houston Texans- Prince Amukamara, CB, Nebraska

The first few rounds of this draft should be easy for the Texans, take the best defensive player on the board that fits Wade Phillips new 3-4 system. The Texans secondary was awful last year and getting one of the two elite CB's in this draft will certainly help that secondary.

12. Minnesota Vikings- Cameron Jordan, DT/DE, California

The Vikings have the pieces in place to win now. They need a QB, but will not take a rookie signal caller, they will go after one of the available veterans such as McNabb or Orton. Here they take the best player on the board who can play across from Jared Allen and/or rotate in with the Williamses who are aging and could use another body to rotate in at DT and keep them fresh.

13. Detroit Lions- Tyron Smith, OT, USC

It's been a while since Detroit wasn't picking in the top ten. Obviously they could use some defensive help, but the face of their franchise hasn't been able to stay healthy since he's been there. It's time for Detroit to bolster that offensive line with the most athletic OT in this draft and keep Stafford healthy and protected.

14. St. Louis Rams- Julio Jones, WR, Alabama

The Rams have a bright future with a talented young QB in Sam Bradford. They also have a young talented group of WR's. The thing they are missing is a legit number one WR for Bradford. Jones will give them that number one WR as he is a big strong fast physical WR that reminds me of Anquan Boldin in his prime.

15. Miami Dolphins- Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama

Ronnie Brown likely won't be back in Miami next season as he was almost traded before last season. Ricky Williams is too old to shoulder the entire workload. As much as Miami likes to run the ball they need a big punishing back that can carry the entire load.

16. Jacksonville Jaguars- JJ Watt, DE, Wisconsin

The Jags signed Aaron Kampman to be their stud pass rusher last off season and he blew out his knee before the season started. When you have to play against Peyton Manning twice a year you need as many good pass rushers as you can get.

17. New England Patriots- Cameron Heyward, DE/DT, Ohio State (from Oakland)

The Pats have needed an upgrade at DE since they traded Richard Seymour for this pick. Heyward will be a perfect fit at DE in the Pats 3-4. He can get after the passer as he showed in the Sugar Bowl and can also stuff the run.

18. San Diego Chargers- Akeem Ayers, OLB, UCLA

The Chargers have needed an elite pass rusher since they made Shawn Merriman quit taking steroids. Larry English was drafted in the first round to be that guy and he hasn't lived up to expectiations. Ayers is that quick OLB that will give them that elite pass rusher.

19. New York Giants- Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin

The Giants starting five has been together forever it seems on that offensive line. They are getting a little long in the tooth. I don't think Eli Manning trusted his line this past season which resulted in hurried throws and interceptions. Carimi may be the most NFL ready player in this draft and will also give them a road grader in the running game.

20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Adrian Clayborn, DE, Iowa

I love what the Bucs did in last year's draft taking McCoy and Price, two DT's, in the first two rounds. Now if they can get someone like Clayborn on the end of that line they will have the makings of a dominant D line like the one that won them a Super Bowl several years back.

21. Kansas City Chiefs- Jonathon Baldwin, WR, Pittsburgh

The Chiefs were unable to get the ball to Bowe at all in their playoff game against the Ravens. That's because they had no other threats at WR and the Ravens were able to focus all their attention on Bowe. Baldwin had a down year at Pitt, but that was due to terrible QB play. He has all the tools to be a number one WR in the NFL at 6'5" with good speed and hands.

22. Indianapolis Colts- Mike Pouncey, OC/OG, Florida

The Colts interior offensive line was terrible this past season. Teams were constantly getting pressure on Manning right up the middle. Pouncey can come in and play Guard immediately giving them an upgrade and then can take over Center when Saturday retires. Pouncey will also help bolster that pathetic Colts running game. I don't know how it came to this in Indy, when you have Peyton Manning you keep the line loaded with talent and depth and Peyton Manning will win you Super Bowls.

23. Philadelphia Eagles- Anthony Castonzo, OT, Boston College

The Eagles have one of the most illusive QB's in the history of the NFL and still gave up a ton of sacks. Andy Reid loves to take offensive lineman early and often in drafts. Here that fits a need and if they can get Vick an athletic offensive line to protect him the Eagles offense can be scary good.

24. New Orleans Saints- Aldon Smith, DE, Missouri

The Saints could use an upgrade across from Will Smith at DE. Smith is one of the better pass rushers in this draft. When you play with the lead often like the Saints do teams are forced to throw the ball against you. Having a good pass rush will help them close out games with the lead.

25. Seattle Seahawks- Jake Locker, QB, Washington

This would be a popular pick in Seattle. Locker has all the tools to be an elite NFL QB he just needs some development. This would be an ideal situation for Locker if Seattle can bring Hasselback or Whitehurst back for a year or two and let Locker sit behind them and learn and gain back some confidence.

26. Baltimore Ravens- Brandon Harris, CB, Miami

The Ravens have had a good proud defense for years. However the past couple years the Ravens CB's have been less than stellar and teams have been able to throw the ball on them. Harris is the last CB left with a first round grade and if he's available will be the pick here.

27. Atlanta Falcons- Ryan Kerrigan, DE, Purdue

John Abraham is getting old and looked gassed in the second half of the playoff game against the Packers. On the other side Anderson has been a bust. Kerrigan has a motor that doesn't stop and he gets after the QB and forces fumbles. If anything Kerrigan will add to a rotation and help keep Abraham fresh.

28. New England Patriots- Justin Houston, DE/OLB, Georgia

Houston will be a good fit at OLB in the Patriots 3-4 defense. The Pats pass rush hasn't been up to par the past couple seasons as they have lacked that elite pass rusher. With two first round picks if the Pats can get Heyward and Houston their pass rush will be much improved and will likely make them the favorites to win it all.

29. Chicago Bears- Derek Sherrod, OT, Mississippi State

The Bears offensive line was inconsistent all year. Some games Forte had nowhere to run and some games Jay Cutler was back there getting killed. The Bears need upgrades everywhere on the line but Center. With their first first round pick in a couple years the Bears need to take an offensive lineman.

30. New York Jets- Phil Taylor, DT, Baylor

Kris Jenkins hasn't been able to stay healthy the last couple years. The Jets defense while still good wasn't as dominant against the run last year as the year before. Taylor is the best Nose Tackle in this draft and his dominant play in the Senior Bowl likely put him into the first round.

31. Pittsburgh Steelers- Benjamin Ijalana, OT/OG, Villanova

The Steelers have needed upgrades along the offensive line for a few years now. Ijalana is the most versatile lineman in this draft and can play about anywhere on the line. The Steelers line was decimated by injury this year and they can't count on Flozell Adams to be there all year next season.

32. Green Bay Packers- Mason Foster, OLB, Washington

The Packers defense has been stellar this season leading them to the Super Bowl. That being said they could use an upgrade across from Clay Matthews, someone who can stop the run. That is Foster's specialty.

2nd Round

33. New England Patriots- Aaron Williams, CB, Texas (from Carolina)

This is basically the Patriots third first round pick. Here they take a CB to play across from Devin McCourty last year's first round pick. In today's NFL you need as many good cover guys as you can get. This will give the Pats an upgrade at every level on defense and turn their defense into one of the best in the NFL.

34. Buffalo Bills- Ryan Mallett, QB, Arkansas

The Bills have announced that Ryan Fitzpatrick will be their starting QB in 2011 and he deserves to be as he played well last season. That being said Fitzpatrick isn't a franchise QB that's going to lead you to the Super Bowl. Mallett could be that he just needs to develop his footwork in the pocket. He can make all the throws, has a strong arm, and good accuracy.

35. Cincinnati Bengals- Corey Liuget, DT, Illinois

Liuget may be gone by this point, but the way this draft fell he is still available due to all the 3-4 teams and he isn't a fit in a 3-4 defense. The Bengals need Safety help and Rahim Moore is still available, but to win you need to build the lines. Liuget isn't that far behind the two stud DT's Fairley and Dareus.

The Bengals didn't stop the run very well last year, but putting Liuget next to Peko on the interior of that D line will make them very tough to run up the middle against. Liuget can also get after the QB as well and if you have him and Geno Atkins on the field on 3rd down that will give them a good interior pass rush to go along with Dunlap and Micheal Johnson on the ends of that line. Those 4 will be tough to block all at once and the pass rush should be much improved.

36. Denver Broncos- Jimmy Smith, CB, Colorado

Champ Bailey is not likely going to be back in Denver in 2011. Even if he is he is getting old and not what he used to be. The secondary struggled with Bailey in 2010 and isn't going to be any better if they don't add some young talent.

37. Cleveland Browns- Leonard Hankerson, WR, Miami

Cleveland may have the worst group of WR's in the NFL. Hankerson may be the most underrated player in this draft class. I think he has the skill set to be a number one WR in the NFL. He is definitely an upgrade over anyone they currently have in Cleveland and will give Colt McCoy a legit weapon on the outside.

38. Arizona Cardinals- Curtis Brown, CB, Texas

The Cardinals could definitely use an upgrade across from Rodgers-Cromartie. They were often torched in the passing game this past season, coming in dead last in the weakest division in the NFL.

39. Tennessee Titans- Stephen Paea, DT, Oregon State

The Titans have needed an upgrade at DT every since Albert Haynesworth went to Washington via free agency. It turned out to be a good move letting him go but they need to add some talent on the interior of that defensive line. That will also help out last year's first round pick Jason Pierre-Paul get some more one on one opportunities.

40. Dallas Cowboys- Brandon Burton, CB, Utah

Terrance Newman is getting a little long in the tooth and losing his biggest asset his track star speed. Mike Jenkins is a joke of a football player. He moved out of the way of a tackle during a nationally televised prime time game last season letting the ball carrier go into the end zone untouched. He would be cut in a second if I was running that team.

41. Washington Redskins- Titus Young, WR, Boise State

Titus Young really emerged at the Senior Bowl last week. He reminds me of DeSean Jackson with his speed and ability to blow right by people. He is also very shifty like Jackson and will be dangerous in the return game. He has better hands than Jackson does as well. Washington doesn't really have any dangerous threat at WR currently and he will instantly be their best WR.

42. Houston Texans- Rahim Moore, FS, UCLA

The Texans have to hope somehow Phil Taylor falls to them here, but I don't see it and they will be missing the most important position in a 3-4, Nose Tackle. Since he's gone they can get the best Safety in the draft and help bolster that awful secondary. Adding Amukamara and Moore will turn a weakness into a strength.

43. Minnesota Vikings- Ras I Dowling, CB, Virginia

Antoine Winfield is 34 years old and Griffen is coming off of his second ACL injury. The Vikings took Chris Cook with their first pick in last year's draft, but he's more suited to play Free Safety rather than CB. He doesn't have enough speed for CB and with the Packers loaded at WR in their division they need as many cover guys as they can get.

44. Detroit Lions- Johnny Patrick, CB, Louisville

Detroit is in the same boat as Minnesota having to play GB twice a year with all their depth at the WR position. Corner is a need for Detroit anyway as their secondary struggled this past season. After Patrick there is a dropoff in talent at the CB position.

45. San Francisco 49ers- Allen Bailey, DE, Miami

The Niners could get a bit unlucky if there is a big run on CB's like I expect there to be. They could reach for one or they could take a great value pick in Bailey to help bolster that line and stuff the run in a division where teams like to run the ball a lot.

46. Denver Broncos- Drake Nevis, DT, LSU

Nevis is a bit undersized but you can't tell with the production he had in the SEC, the toughest conference in the country. He fits in better in a 4-3 at DT which is what the Broncos will be switching to and will need some help bolstering that line. Teams ran all over Denver last year and they play in a division where teams have a run first mentality like KC and Oakland.

47. St. Louis Rams- Kyle Rudolph, TE, Notre Dame

This would be an excellent pick for St. Louis if they get Julio Jones in the first round. The Rams have a young QB and a young QB's best friend is a TE that can catch the ball. Rudolph is by far the best TE in this draft and he's also well rounded with decent blocking ability to help out Steven Jackson.

48. Oakland Raiders- Kendrick Burney, CB, North Carolina

Nmandi Asomoagh is now an unrestricted free agent and I don't see him going back to Oakland after they fired a coach that finally had them headed in the right direction. If that's the case then they may have to reach a little bit for a CB. Burney has the talent but his character is questionable.

49. Jacksonville Jaguars- Quinton Carter, FS, Oklahoma

I hope Carter falls to the Bengals in round 3 but I don't see that happening after his Senior Bowl performance. The Jags took Rasheen Mathis in the first a few years ago and that didn't work out, hopefully he does better with the Bengals. Carter will give Jacksonville a good cover Safety which is something they need with pass happy teams like the Colts and Texans in their division.

50. San Diego Chargers- Torrey Smith, WR, Maryland

I don't know what's going to happen with Vincent Jackson in San Diego, he obviously has some issues with AJ Smith, the Charger's GM. I think Smith will take a WR early in the draft for insurance.

51. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Bruce Carter, OLB, North Carolina

Will the Bucs go defense in the first two rounds two years in a row? They could, and if they do they will have the makings of a dominant defense that is very young and will be good for years to come. The Bucs have needed a top notch LB since Derrick Brooks retired and Carter could be a steal here as one of the suspended North Carolina defenders that are going to fall in the draft.

52. New York Giants- Ryan Williams, RB, Virginia Tech

Brandon Jacobs was not happy with his role as the backup to Ahmad Bradshaw and could be gone in New York next season. Bradshaw can not stay healthy for an entire year and can't be counted on to carry the entire load. Williams is a big punishing back that has the body type to hold up for an entire season if they needed it to in New York.

53. Indianapolis Colts- Marvin Austin, DT, North Carolina

The Colts couldn't run the ball last year and teams could run all over them easily. That's a recipe for disaster as you can't control the clock and teams can control it on you. Plugging Austin into the interior of that defensive line should help fix that some in Indy.

54. Philadelphia Eagles- Muhammad Wilkerson, DT/DE, Temple

The Eagles had some bad luck with Brandon Graham tearing his ACL at the end of last season. Wilkerson would be a big help to the Eagles as he is versatile and could play DE if Graham isn't ready to start the season and he can also move inside and play DT. Players like that are very valuable.

55. Kansas City Chiefs- Jeremy Beal, DE/OLB, Oklahoma

Lots of draft experts are down on Beal, but if you go back and watch Oklahoma games the guy was all over the place and made play after play. The Chiefs have a bright future on defense with a bunch of talented young players. The only thing they are missing is that second pass rusher across from Tamba Hali.

56. New Orleans Saints- Greg Jones, LB, Michigan Stae

The same with Jones as Beal lots of experts are down on him. He was the unquestioned leader of that Michigan State defense and he made play after play. I think the Saints will use him at OLB and keep Vilma inside, but they could switch them and move Vilma outside or they could flip flop them during games giving opposing offenses different looks.

57. Seattle Seahawks- Rodney Hudson, OC/OG, Florida State

The Seahawks could use help on the interior of that offensive line. They got their stud LT in last year's draft and if they bolster the interior Marshawn Lynch could bust off more long TD runs that are amazing.

58. Baltimore Ravens- Christian Ballard, DE/DT, Iowa

Ballard will be a good fit at DE in the Ravens 3-4 defense. While the Ravens defense has been good for years, it hasn't been dominant like it used to be. It used to be impossible to run on them, not so much anymore. Getting someone like Ballard to play next to Ngata could get them back to that dominant run stopping defense.

59. Atlanta Falcons- Vincent Brown, WR, San Diego State

Brown really improved his stock at the Senior Bowl as he caught everything thrown his way and won all his one on one drills. It's amazing that Roddy White has put up the numbers he has with absolutely no help from the other WR's in Atlanta. Brown should take some of the heat off of White and if teams don't pay attention to Brown he'll beat them.

60. New England Patriots- Stefen Wisniewski, OC/OG, Penn State

Neal, the Patriot's Center, has announced that 2011 will be his last season. The Pats could use some youth at Guard right now and Wisniewski can take over at Center in 2012. With all these picks the Pats will probably be the favorites in the pre season to win it all next season.

61. San Diego Chargers- Quan Sturdivant, ILB, North Carolina (from NY Jets)

The Chargers got their pass rushing LB, now they need someone in the middle that can stuff the run. All the other teams in San Diego's division are teams with a run first mentality, especially now that John Fox is the head coach in Denver.

62. Chicago Bears- Jarvis Jenkins, DT, Clemson

The Bears benched Tommie Harris this past season due to lack of production on the field. Everyone praised the Bears defensive line, but really it was Julius Peppers plus the LB's that got the job done. They need upgrades at DT and Jenkins is someone that can come in and immediately stuff the run.

63. Pittsburgh Steelers- Rashad Carmicheal, CB, Virginia Tech

The Steelers have needed upgrades at CB for years. Troy Polumalu has covered up the fact the they are getting bad CB play in Pittsburgh. Imagine what Troy could do if they had good CB's and he really got to roam without having to worry about the CB's at all.

64. Green Bay Packers- Danny Watkins, OG, Baylor

The Packers are old along the offensive line and need to add some youth. Last year they took Bulaga to play RT. This year they need to get someone on the interior. When you have Aaron Rodgers it's never a bad idea to take an offensive lineman with an early pick.

3rd Round

65. Carolina Panthers- Greg Little, WR, North Carolina

The Panthers need to add some weapons on the outside. Steve Smith has been asking for some help at WR for a couple years now. Little is a bigger WR that will give Jimmy Clausen someone other than Steve Smith to throw to.

66. Cincinnati Bengals- John Moffitt, OG, Wisconsin

Winning football starts up front and if the Bengals don't get a lineman on one side of the ball or the other in the first round, they should take one in the next two rounds. Ideally I'd like to get an offensive or defensive lineman in two of the first three rounds every draft. If you win the battle in the trenches you usually win the game and to win the battle in the trenches you need more good players up front than the other team. Usually the better players are the ones drafted earlier in the draft.

Moffitt is a road grader, which Cedric Benson will like, that can help this team get back to it's power running game. He is also strong enough to hold the point of attack and hold off a bull rush in pass protection. Guards don't need to be that quick in pass protection as they are basically in a phone booth. Moffitt is one of the top three pure Guards in this draft and will be an instant upgrade at LG over Mathis and Livings.

67. Denver Broncos- Deunta Williams, FS, North Carolina

The Denver secondary didn't play very well last season and they are likely going to lose Champ Bailey. John Fox, now the head coach in Denver, won a lot of games with defense and running the ball in Carolina and will look to beef up that defense in Denver in his first draft there.

68. Buffalo Bills- Pernell McPhee, DE, Mississippi State

The Bills defense has had a good secondary for a few years and has been good against the pass. It's rush defense hasn't been very good though and with the switch to a 3-4 they need some DE's that can stuff the run.

69. Arizona Cardinals- Orlando Franklin, OG, Miami

The Cardinals had one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL last season. They have a talented RB in Beanie Wells that has had nowhere to run. Getting a big road grader like Franklin will help in that running game.

70. Cleveland Browns- Jabaal Sheard, DE, Pittsburgh

The Browns are making the switch to a 4-3 efense, but don't really have the right personnel to run a 4-3 defense. They will likely take multiple defensive lineman early in this draft even after taking a versatile lineman like Dareus in the first round.

71. Dallas Cowboys- Demarcus Love, OT, Arkansas

Even after taking Solder in the first round the Cowboys will still need help on the offensive line. This will be a great value pick if Love is still available early in the third round. With Solder on the left side and Love at RT the Cowboys will be set at OT for years to come.

72. New Orleans Saints- Mikel Leshoure, RB, Illinois (from Washington)

You are going to see RB's fall farther and farther as the years pass in drafts. The reason, a good line makes a RB unless they are an exceptional talent like Adrian Peterson or Chris Johnson. There's none of those in this draft. That being said the Saints need a RB, Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush can't stay healthy and the Saints can't keep using RB's signed off the street and starting that same weekend.

73. Houston Texans- Brooks Reed, DE/OLB, Arizona

The Texans hired Wade Phillips to bring his 3-4 defense to Houston. They have the pass rushers at the DE positions, now they need those pass rushers coming off the edge at OLB. Reed is very good at getting after the QB and will be a good fit as a pass rushing specialist.

74. New England Patriots- Randall Cobb, WR/RB/KR, Kentucky (from Minnesota)

Belicheck will love Cobb as he's one of those players that can do a lot of different things. He is also very fast and will give NE someone who can stretch the field vertically. Right now all they have is WR's that run short routes making it easy for defenses to sit on those routes.

75. Detroit Lions- Kelvin Sheppard, OLB, LSU

Upgrades are needed at both OLB spots, really across the board at all three LB positions. Teams threw the ball all over Detroit, but part of that was no help in coverage from the LB's. Sheppard is one of the faster LB's in this draft and will help against the run and pass.

76. San Francisco 49ers- Jerrell Jernigan, WR, Troy

If the Niners get a rookie QB they will need to add some weapons on the outside other than Micheal Crabtree. Jernigan is a smaller quick and shifty WR that will fit in well in the slot and give Gabbert a check down option on 3rd downs out of the slot.

77. Tennessee Titans- Joseph Barksdale, OT, LSU

The Titans need upgrades across the board up front on offense. Chris Johnson had no room to run this past season. They need to get some road graders up front and get Chris Johnson back to being that 2000 yard rusher.

78. St. Louis Rams- Daniel Thomas, RB, Kansas State

The Rams have Steven Jackson who is a beast at RB, but he's had some problems with injuries the past few years. Thomas will give the Rams a competant back up that can carry the entire load if he needs to.

79. Miami Dolphins- Davon House, CB, New Mexico

The Dolphins have to play against Tom Brady two times a year. When that's the case you need as many good cover guys as you can get and right now the Dolphins CB's need upgraded.

80. Jacksonville Jaguars- Clint Boling, OG, Georgia

The Jaguars almost beat out the Colts to win the AFC South this past season. The best way to do that is to control the ball against them and keep Peyton Manning off of the field. The Jags have a decent running game but could use some help on the interior of that offensive line.

81. Oakland Raiders- Andy Dalton, QB, TCU

Dalton is the most underrated QB in this draft. The guy has the tools to be a good NFL QB. The Raiders have struggled at QB for years and now that they have a new head coach that usually means a new QB.

82. San Diego Chargers- Ian Williams, DT, Notre Dame

The Chargers run a 3-4 defense and when you run a 3-4 the most important position is Nose Tackle. The Chargers don't really have a true NT on their roster and Williams will give them that.

83. New York Giants- Jurrell Casey, DT, USC

The Giants defensive line won them a Super Bowl several years ago. When you run a 4-3 you need to have lots of depth on that D line. The Giants have a good starting four, but they don't have very much depth.

84. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Kendall Hunter, RB, Oklahoma State

LaGarrette Blount did a decent job for TB last season, but they could definitely use another RB. Cadillac Williams has suffered too many injuries and his best days are behind him. In today's NFL you need atleast two viable RB's.

85. Philadelphia Eagles- Delone Carter, RB, Syracuse

This will be about the time in the draft when you start seeing RB's start flying off the board. McCoy did a great job last season in Philly and is a perfect fit for their system. They do need a big bruising back that can get them the tough yards though.

86. Kansas City Chiefs- Kenrick Ellis, DT, Hampton

The Chiefs need one of those huge bodies to play NT as towards the end of the season teams had success running the ball against them. Ellis fits that bill weighing in at over 330 lbs.

87. Indianapolis Colts- Marcus Cannon, OG, TCU

Cannon can play Guard and Tackle. That will be an asset for Indy as they need help at both spots. After taking Pouncey in the first they can put Cannon across from him at Guard and have the interior offensive line totally upgraded and Peyton Manning will have time to throw and they'll be much improved in the running game.

88. New Orleans Saints- Sione Fua, DT, Stanford

The Saints go into this draft needing upgrades on the defensive line at both DE and DT. They took care of the pass rusher at DE with Aldon Smith and Fua will give them a compliment next to Sedrick Ellis at DT as the run stuffer next to the pass rushing Ellis.

89. San Diego Chargers- Chris Hairston, OT, Clemson

The Chargers were close to having a season long holdout with McNeill this past season. Who knows when they could get another one. This time AJ Smith will have some insurance with an early round pick.

90. Baltimore Ravens- Tandon Doss, WR, Indiana

Derrick Mason turns fifty next season. Seriously though this could have been his last season and even if it wasn't the Ravens need some upgrades behind Boldin. Housh hasn't been the same since he left and Mason doesn't have much left in the tank.

91. Atlanta Falcons- Lance Kendricks, TE, Wisconsin

Tony Gonzalez may have played his last game. Kendricks is one of the better pass catching TE's in this draft. He is undersized to play TE in the NFL, but will atleast give Atlanta another receiving threat that will be a mis match for opposing defenses.

92. New England Patriots- Jason Pinkston, OT, Pittsburgh

This is the Patriots sixth pick already in this draft. They have upgraded every level of their defense, got a vertical receiving threat, and now this is their second offensive lineman. With the team they had last season plus these upgrades they may be one of the biggest favorites to win it all in the history of the NFL.

93. Chicago Bears- Robert Sands, SS, West Virginia

Sands will be by far the top player on the board if he lasts this long. The Bears have needed upgrades at Safety, especially since they have mediocre players at both Safety positions that have threatened hold outs in the past couple years.

94. New York Jets- Colin McCarthy, OLB, Miami

I think you're going to see Rex Ryan take multiple players that can get after the QB in this draft. Despite what they did to the Patriots in the playoffs Ryan isn't going to be happy with their lack of pass rush during this past season.

95. Pittsburgh Steelers- Luke Stocker, TE, Tennessee

Heath Miller hasn't been able to stay healthy the past couple of seasons. He hasn't performed as well as he used to when he was healthy either. The Steelers like to use the TE as a big part of their passing game.

96. Green Bay Packers- Casey Matthews, ILB, Oregon

The Packers could use an upgrade next to AJ Hawk at middle LB in their 3-4 defense. It doesn't hurt that his brother, who should have won defensive player of the year, is the starting outside LB on that defense.

PostHeaderIcon Senior Bowl Report

From the limited video that i've seen on the Senior Bowl practices here's some information on some of the prospects the Bengals could be interested in.

Quinton Carter- The Free Safety from Oklahoma has looked very good in coverage. The Bengals have needed a Safety that can cover for years. Carter is someone that could possibly be had with the Bengals early third round pick and would be an absolute steal there. In one on one drills against WR's he looked better than some of the CB's. He has very fluid hips and can change directions very well. His straight line speed is better than I expected from a Safety, not a Corner. Keep an eye on Carter, if the Bengals can get him in the 3rd they can upgrade another position in the 2nd round.

Titus Young- The Wide Receiver from Boise State reminds me a lot of DeSean Jackson. He can flat out fly. If the Bengals don't take AJ Green in the first round he could be someone they take in the 2nd. He made all the catches and I didn't see a single drop from him. Defenders had to give him plenty of cushion because of his speed and he did a great job using that to create space on his shorter routes by setting up the defender selling the deep route and then making a good cut and shortening the route.

Phil Taylor- He's likely going to be a Nose Tackle, but if he's still sitting there when the Bengals pick in the 2nd they may want to take a long look at Taylor. He dominated the lineman drills pretty much overpowering anyone who stood in his way. Did a great job using his hands to keep offensive lineman from being able to engage him and if they couldn't get their hands on him it was over he would push them right back into the QB. Taylor would give the Bengals a run stuffer inside with Peko and they'd be impossible to run up the middle against.

Clint Boling- He was a Tackle at Georgia, but is probably going to be a Guard in the NFL and would be an instant upgrade over Mathis or Livings at LG right now. He won most of his matchups in lineman drills which is impressive as those drills are set up for the defense to win. Has heavy hands when he uses that punch and jolts the defender back when he got those hands on him. When he was inside at Guard and defenders didn't have space they couldn't beat him. Was worried he wasn't strong enough and would get pushed back at Guard against interior D lineman, but that wasn't the case at all.

Cameron Jordan- Is probably best fit as a 5 technique in a 3-4, but could be a good DT. He looked better than any D lineman there besides Phil Taylor. For his huge size he has excellent speed and agility. Could cause match up problems in a 4-3 defense like the Bengals as he could play DE on running downs and move inside on passing downs creating favorable match ups for himself on every down.

PostHeaderIcon Mock Draft (1-28-2011)

2 Rounds ( 1 Week Before The Super Bowl)

1. Carolina Panthers- Nick Fairley, DT, Auburn

Fairley was unblockable this past season at Auburn. He came up biggest in the biggest game of all the National Championship Game. Fairley is the type of player that is a game changer. He can't be blocked one on one and teams are going to have to game plan around him. He gets good penetration and disrupts the running game. He can get after the QB and will force double teams which will free up other players on his team.

2. Denver Broncos- DaQuan Bowers, DE, Clemson

John Fox is now the head coach in Denver. He took Julius Peppers early in a draft in Carolina and will try to get that elite pass rusher again in Denver. The thing he has in Denver already is Elvis Dumervil which will give him an elite pass rushing duo and make it tough for teams to get both of them blocked.

3. Buffalo Bills- Robert Quinn, DE/OLB, North Carolina

The Bills are attempting to convert to a 3-4 defense. They took Aaron Maybin to be their stud pass rusher a couple years ago and he hasn't lived up to expectations. Plus he's not a good fit in a 3-4 defense. Quinn is a perfect fit for a 3-4 team as a pass rusher coming off the edge at OLB. Even though he was suspended in 2010 his athleticism is too much to pass up on for a team that has to contend with Tom Brady twice a year and needs a pass rusher.

4. Cincinnati Bengals- AJ Green, WR, Georgia

I believe in the philosophy that you build the lines to win in the NFL and if Fairley is somehow still available I would take him. Since he isn't this is the perfect opportunity to run Chad and TO out of town. It's no coincidence that Carson had his best games when those two were out of the lineup. The reason Carson wants traded is because he's tired of the circus those two bring. Carson isn't going to get traded and he isn't going to retire.

Green is the best WR prospect to come out since Calvin Johnson and he's right there on his level. He can do it all as a WR. He has an excellent combination of size and speed. He does a great job creating seperation and for his limited experience his route running is very good and will only get better. He can use his size and go up over defenders and get the ball. He can stretch the field vertically or use his size and body to shield defenders on the short routes.

Getting Green will give the Bengals a legit number one WR. Add him to Jerome Simpson who came on strong at the end of last year and looks like he could be one of the best number two WR's in the NFL. Jordan Shipley led all rookies in third down catches and may be the best slot WR in the NFL besides Wes Welker. Jermaine Gresham is a match-up nightmare for opposing defenses as LB's and Safeties can't cover him. That gives you the best young group of WR's and TE's in the NFL and the makings of an explosive offense. The best part is they will actually listen and allow Carson to be the leader.

5. Arizona Cardinals- Blaine Gabbert, QB, Missouri

Once Andrew Luck announced he was going back to school Gabbert started flying up draft boards. This may be a bit of a reach, but QB's almost always go higher than they should or than they are rated. Arizona needs a QB in the worst way as they have no viable QB's on their current roster. It's a waste to have Larry Fitzgerald, one of the best WR's in the NFL, if you have no one to get him the ball.

6. Cleveland Browns- Marcell Dareus, DT/DE, Alabama

Cleveland needs a WR in the worst way, but Holmgren has never taken one in the first round and I doubt he'll reach for one with this high of a pick. Especially since they are switching to a 4-3 defense and all they have is Shaun Rodgers at DT. He's been hurt the past couple of years anyway. Dareus is a versatile D lineman that will help them up front as he can move all over the place giving their D coordinator lots of options to work with.

7. San Francisco 49ers- Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU

The only QB Jim Harbaugh would consider here is Gabbert in my opinion. He won't reach for anyone else. There are two ways to win in the NFL. The first is to have an elite QB that carries you. The second is to have a dominant defense and a good running game. SF has the pieces in place on defense and getting a lock down CB like Peterson may vault them into a dominant D.

8. Tennessee Titans- Corey Liuget, DT, Illinois

The Titans have needed an upgrade at DT since Haynesworth went to Washington via free agency. Smart move by Tennessee letting him walk, what a basket case. Anyway getting a good DT will also help free up last year's first round pick Jason Pierre-Paul.

9. Dallas Cowboys- Nate Solder, OT, Colorado

The Cowboys offensive line struggled starting week one last season when they had a game winning TD called back on a holding penalty. They continued right through the season including getting Tony Romo his broken collarbone. Solder looked very good at the Senior Bowl this week and is emerging as the best OT in this draft.

10. Washington Redskins- Cam Newton, QB, Auburn

The Redskins are not going to go with Rex Grossman at QB next season. Newton is the next best QB and he was a winner at Auburn. Shanahan will be cocky enough to think he can turn Newton into an elite QB and he might just do it. There are the Vince Young comparisons but Newton is a much better passer than Young. When you have a skill set like Cam you don't need to be an elite pocket passer to win in the NFL.

11. Houston Texans- Prince Amukamara, CB, Nebraska

This draft should be easy for the Texans at least the first few rounds. Take the best defensive player on the board that fits your new system by coordinator Wade Phillips. The Texans secondary was awful at best last season and here they can get one of the two elite CB's in this draft and that should help big time.

12. Minnesota Vikings- Cameron Jordan, DT/DE, California

The Williamses are getting older in Minnesota and the Vikings could also use an upgrade across from Jared Allen at DE. In a 4-3 like Minnesota runs Jordan could play DE on running downs and move inside some on passing downs helping keep the Williamses fresh and adding another pass rusher inside. When you have Aaron Rodgers in your division you need as many as you can get.

If Cam Newton is available here I think Minnesota pulls the trigger.

13. Detroit Lions- Tyron Smith, OT, USC

The Lions could use secondary help, but they need to upgrade their offensive line first. Since Stafford has been there he has been hurt. It's time to get the players to keep him protected and see what he can do.

14. St. Louis Rams- Julio Jones, WR, Alabama

Sam Bradford looks to have a bright future in the NFL, he played very well as a rookie. The Rams also have a talented young group of WR's. The thing they are missing is a legit number one WR. Jones will give them that, he is a big strong fast physical WR that reminds me of Anquan Boldin in his prime.

15. Miami Dolphins- Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama

Ronnie Brown is likely not going to be back in Miami, he was almost traded before last season. Ricky Williams is too old to be an every down back in the NFL or anywhere for that matter. Ingram is the only RB worthy of a first round pick and is a big enough back to be an every down guy.

16. Jacksonville Jaguars- Adrian Clayborn, DE, Iowa

Before last season Jacksonville signed Aaron Kampman and he blew out his knee before the season started. The Jaguars play in a division with pass happy teams like the Colts and Texans and need as many good pass rushers as they can get.

17. New England Patriots- Von Miller, OLB, Texas A&M (from Oakland)

Miller is the type of player Belicheck will love as he can do it all as an OLB. He can play the run well, is an excellent pass rusher, and can drop into coverage. The Pats have been missing that elite pass rusher for quite a few years.

18. San Diego Chargers- Akeem Ayers, OLB, UCLA

The Chargers have needed a good pass rusher every since they made Shawn Merriman quit taking steroids. Larry English hasn't really lived up to expectations. Ayers will give them that pass rusher coming off the edge.

19. New York Giants- Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin

The Giants starting five offensive lineman have been together forever it seems. They are getting up there in years and some youth needs to be added. I don't really think Eli Manning trusted his line last season and hurried throws that's the reason for all the interceptions.

20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- JJ Watt, DE, Wisconsin

I love what the Bucs did in last year's draft taking McCoy and Price, two DT's, in the first two rounds. If they can add a DE the caliber of Watt they will have the makings of a dominant D line for years to come. Like the one that won them a Super Bowl several years ago.

21. Kansas City Chiefs- Jonathon Baldwin, WR, Pittsburgh

The Chiefs were unable to get the ball to Bowe at all during their playoff game with the Ravens. That's because their only threat at Won BowR was Bowe and the Ravens focused all thier attention on Bowe and didn't have to worry about anyone else. Baldwin did have a down year at Pitt this past season, but that was due to their bad QB play. Baldwin has the skill set to be a number one WR and will give KC a duo of number one WR's.

22. Indianapolis Colts- Mike Pouncey, OC/OG, Florida

The Colts offensive line wasn't very good at all last season. Pouncey will give them an instant upgrade on the interior of that line where they need it the most. Pouncey can play Guard until Saturday decides to retire and then take over Center. He will also help the Colts and their pitiful running game. If you have Peyton Manning you should keep the offensive line stocked with talent and depth, if you do he will win you Super Bowls.

23. Philadelphia Eagles- Anthony Castanzo, OT, Boston College

The Eagles have one of the most, if not the most, illusive QB's in the history of the NFL and they still gave up a ton of sacks. Andy Reid loves to take offensive lineman early and often in drafts and here it fills a need. If the Eagles get Vick a good, young, athletic line their offense can be scary good.

24. New Orleans Saints- Stephen Paea, DT, Oregon State

I don't know how serious Paea's knee surgery was, but if it wasn't too bad he would make a good compliment as a run stuffer next to Sedrick Ellis, the pass rusher. Maybe if they had Paea Seattle doesn't run all over them in the playoffs. Paea is a little undersized, but he's a physical freak with how strong he is.

25. Seattle Seahawks- Jake Locker, QB, Washington

This pick would be a fan favorite in Seattle. Locker is a hometown player that played at the University of Washington. At one point people thought Locker might be the number one overall pick in this draft. He has all the tools to be an elite NFL QB he just needs some development and to gain his confidence back. This would be a perfect situation for him if they bring Hasselback back for a year or two and let Locker learn behind him.

26. Baltimore Ravens- Cameron Heyward, DE/DT, Ohio State

Heyward is a perfect fit as a five technique in the Ravens 3-4 defense. The Ravens were dominant against the run for years, but the past couple years they haven't been quite as dominant. They have still been good but putting Heyward next to Ngata could get them back to being that dominant run stopping unit.

27. Atlanta Falcons- Aldon Smith, DE, Missouri

John Abraham has a lot of miles on him and looked gassed in the second half of the playoff game against the Packers. On the other side Anderson has been a bust and Smith would be an upgrade. At the very least he'd provide another pass rusher to rotate in and help keep Abraham fresh.

28. New England Patriots- Brandon Harris, CB, Miami

The Pats could use an upgrade at the CB spot across from Devin McCourtey. This is NE's second pick in the first round and they should use it to get another defensive player as that was the weakest unit for the Patriots. In the NFL you can't have too many good CB's and you're seeing more and more teams go CB in the first round in consecutive years.

29. Chicago Bears- Benjamin Ijalana, OT/OG, Villanova

The Bears offensive line was inconsistent all season long. Some games Forte had nowhere to run and some games Jay Cutler got absolutely flattened. Ijalana is an intruiging prospect as he can play about anywhere on the line besides Center.

30. New York Jets- Phil Taylor, NT, Baylor

Kris Jenkins has been hurt basically the last two seasons. To me Nose Tackle is the most important position in a 3-4. If you have a good one who can eat up multiple blockers it really frees up your defense to do alot more both against the run and pass. While the Jets defense was good it wasn't impossible to run on them.

31. Pittsburgh Steelers- Demarcus Love, OT, Arkansas

I'm pretty sure if there's an offensive lineman that the Steelers like they'll take one in the first round. They were decimated by injury this season. There's no way they can count on Flozell Adams for another season.

32. Green Bay Packers- Aaron Williams, CB, Texas

Charles Woodson is still playing at a high level, but he's not going to be able to continue to do that forever, is he? Anyway the Packers could still use an upgrade at Nickel CB and it'd be good for the future starting CB to learn from Woodson. When you play with the lead often teams are forced to throw on you so having a bunch of depth at CB is a good idea.

2nd Round

33. New England Patriots- Allen Bailey, DE, Miami (from Carolina)

This is basically New Englands third first round pick. They have needed an upgrade at DE since they traded Richard Seymour before last season. If the Patriots take the three players they are mocked their defense should be much improved as they add a first rounder to every level of that defense and they'll probably be the favorites to win it all next season.

34. Buffalo Bills- Ryan Mallett, QB, Arkansas

The Bills have already announced that Ryan Fitzpatrick is their starting QB in 2011 and he deserves to be he played well in 2010. That being said Fitzpatrick is not a franchise QB that will take you all the way, Mallet could be. Mallett can make all the throws, he has good size, a strong arm, and good accuracy. He just needs development on his footwork in the pocket and throwing the ball under pressure.

35. Cincinnati Bengals- Ryan Kerrigan, DE, Purdue

With Rahim Moore still on the board this would be a tough choice. If the Bengals could get Kerrigan or a defensive lineman similiar that would be the pick for me. For one Kerrigan is the higher player on the board and two the team that wins in the trenches usually wins the game. Plus the Bengals finished towards the bottom in sacks last year. But Carlos Dunlap really came on the second half of the season recording 9.5 sacks in the last eight games.

Putting Kerrigan across from Dunlap would give the Bengals an elite pass rushing duo and their sack totals would be way up. Especially having Micheal Johnson and Odom playing behind them, they could rotate and would be fresh the entire game and season for that matter.

If they take a DE here they could go out and get a FS in free agency or hope Rasheen Mathis can live up to his potential. Either way going with the lineman is the way to go here, football is won up front. Plus the Bengals have two pro bowl caliber CB's and if they get a good pass rush their job becomes much easier.

36. Denver Broncos- Jimmy Smith, CB, Colorado

Champ Bailey is likely not going to be back in Denver next season and even if he is he's getting to be too old. Jimmy Smith really looks like a good prospect the more tape I watch on him and could be ready to be a starter week one.

37. Cleveland Browns- Torrey Smith, WR, Maryland

Justin Blackmon and Micheal Floyd going back to school really hurts Cleveland. They may have the worst group of WR's in the NFL. They have no true number one WR. Smith doesn't project to be one either, but he's still an upgrade over anyone they currently have and is an additional weapon for Colt McCoy as he could be a very good number two if they get a legit number one WR.

38. Arizona Cardinals- Justin Houston, OLB, Georgia

Houston looks to be the best fit in a 3-4 defense at OLB coming off the edge rushing the passer. The Cardinals signed Joey Porter to do that last off season, but they found out that he's just a loud mouth that is over the hill and under productive.

39. Tennessee Titans- Derek Sherrod, OT, Mississippi State

I don't even know who the Titans head coach is going to be it's tough to say who they will draft. I do know they could use some upgrades on the offensive line and try to help Chris Johnson get back to that 2,000 yard rusher he was a couple years ago.

40. Dallas Cowboys- Brandon Burton, CB, Utah

The Cowboys could use an upgrade at CB big time. Terrence Newman is getting a little long in the tooth and losing his biggest asset, his track star speed. Mike Jenkins effort is pathetic, in a prime time, national televised game he backed off a tackle and let the ball carrier walk into the end zone untouched because he was afraid to tackle him.

41. Washington Redskins- Drake Nevis, DT, LSU

The Redskins could use a DT after the Albert Haynesworth fiasco in Washington. Their defense is a couple of pieces away from being really good.

42. Houston Texans- Jeremy Beal, OLB, Oklahoma

Like I said before, best defensive player on the board that fits Wade Phillips 3-4 defense. In this case it's Jeremy Beal who will be a relentless pass rusher coming off the edge for Houston. If you line him up outside Mario Williams it'll be tough to get both guys blocked on the same side of the field.

43. Minnesota Vikings- Ras I Dowling, CB, Virginia

The Vikings have one CB that is in his mid thirties and another coming off of his second ACL tear. They took Chris Cook with their first pick last year, but I think he needs to be converted to Safety like Malcom Jenkins did with the Saints.

44. Detroit Lions- Mason Foster, OLB, Washington

The Lions are close as a team to being a playoff contender. They have a lot of talented young players. On defense they need a couple of cover guys on the outside and they need to upgrade their weakside LB. Foster has really risen his stock from a late round prospect to an early 2nd day prospect.

45. San Francisco 49ers- Rahim Moore, FS, UCLA

Like I said with SF earlier if you don't have the elite QB you can win with dominant defense and a good running game. The Niners were already good up front and if they can get Patrick Peterson and then Rahim Moore the best CB and best Safety in this draft their defense could be the best in the NFL shortly.

46. Denver Broncos- Marvin Austin, DT, North Carolina

John Fox was a firm believer in you run the ball and stop the run to win in Carolina and it worked well for him he won a lot of games and even went to the Super Bowl. The Broncos will be switching to a 4-3 which means he'll need to get the defensive line revamped.

47. St. Louis Rams- Kyle Rudolph, TE, Notre Dame

Why not get your franchise QB another weapon. Young QB's love to have good TE's that can catch the ball and keep the chains moving on third down and in the red zone. Rudolph is the best TE in this draft and is pretty well rounded he can block and catch the ball.

48. Oakland Raiders- Curtis Brown, CB, Texas

Nmandi Asomoagh is now an unrestricted free agent and there's no reason to believe he will return to the Raiders. Why would he when they just fired the coach that finally had them on the right track.

49. Jacksonville Jaguars- Deunta Williams, FS, North Carolina

The Jaguars spent a first round pick on Rasheen Mathis, a FS, a couple of years ago and he didn't pan out in Jacksonville, hopefully he will in Cincinnati. Anyway they need to try to find someone else to put back there in coverage and try to slow down Peyton Manning.

50. San Diego Chargers- Muhammad Wilkerson, DE/DT, Temple

The Chargers current starting DE's are unrestricted FA's and the fans in SD should be happy about that as neither are very good. Wilkerson really played his way up draft boards this past season and some have him going as high as the first round.

51. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Bruce Carter, OLB, North Carolina

Quincy Black is an unrestricted free agent and I'm sure TB would like to find an upgrade for him anyway as he didn't play well in 2010. The Bucs haven't had a LB as talented as Carter since they had Derrick Brooks.

52. New York Giants- Ryan Williams, RB, Virginia Tech

Brandon Jacobs was not happy about his role as the backup to Ahmad Bradshaw this past season. I think he isn't with the Giants next season. Ahmad Bradshaw hasn't been able to stay healthy for an entire season. Williams is a big bruising back that can handle the entire workload if he had to.

53. Indianapolis Colts- Jarvis Jenkins, DT, Clemson

As much as the Colts struggled to run the ball in 2010, that's how easy teams ran the ball on them. Jenkins is known as a run stuffer and the Colts should continue drafting interior lineman on both sides of the ball.

54. Philadelphia Eagles- Rashad Carmicheal, CB, Virginia Tech

The Eagles were torched in the passing game many times last season. Asante Samuel is overrated and across from him they are getting zero production. Carmicheal is the best CB left on the board and will be an upgrade.

55. Kansas City Chiefs- Jabaal Sheard, DE/OLB, Pittsburgh

The Chiefs two biggest needs are WR and a pass rusher across from Tamba Hali. They landed a WR in the first and Sheard will give them the pass rusher they need. Chiefs fans should be excited as they have a ton of young talent on their team, especially the defense.

56. New Orleans Saints- Daniel Thomas, RB, Kansas State

Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush can not stay healthy for an entire season, they are lucky if they can get 16 games between the two. The Saints can't keep winning by picking up RB's off the streets and playing them that weekend.

57. Seattle Seahawks- Orlando Franklin, OG, Miami

Franklin is the best pure Guard in this draft. If Seattle can get an upgrade at Guard maybe Marshawn Lynch can have more Madden Football style runs for TD's. Pete Carroll likes to run the ball and needs some road graders up front.

58. Baltimore Ravens- Vincent Brown, WR, San Diego State

Derrick Mason is another year older and Housh was only in Baltimore on a one year contract. Brown has really proven himself at the Senior Bowl this week as one of the best WR's in this draft.

59. Atlanta Falcons- Leonard Hankerson, WR, Miami

I can't believe that Roddy White puts up the numbers that he does with absolutely no help from the other WR's. Hankerson is the most underrated player in this draft in my opinion and could end up emerging as one of the best WR's in the NFL he has those types of skills.

60. New England Patriots- Rodney Hudson, OC/OG, Florida State

Neal the Patriots Center has announced that 2011 will be his last season in the NFL. Hudson is an athletic Center that does a good job getting out on LB's and will come in handy against 3-4 defenses like the Jets. He can play Guard across from Logan Mankins until 2012 then take over at Center.

61. San Diego Chargers- Quan Sturdivant, ILB, North Carolina (from NY Jets)

Every one of the LB's in San Diego will be a free agent in a couple of weeks. Sturdivant is the top inside LB in this draft and will really help SD in a division where all the other teams have a run first philosophy on offense.

62. Chicago Bears- Greg Little, WR, North Carolina

The Bears could use another playmaker outside at the WR position. All of their WR's are on the shorter side and Little brings a different dynamic as a taller WR for Cutler to throw it to, or whoever plays QB in the 2nd half.

63. Pittsburgh Steelers- Davon House, CB, New Mexico State

The Steelers play at CB has been less than impressive the past couple of years. If they didn't have the pass rush that they have their CB's would really be in trouble. After House there is a considerable drop off in talent at CB.

64. Green Bay Packers- Greg Jones, LB, Michigan State

Jones measurables are less than impressive, but when you watch him in actual games all he does is make plays. The Packers could use an upgrade across from Clay Matthews, they don't need Jones to be an elite pass rusher, just to do what he does be in the right spots and stuff the run.
