PostHeaderIcon 2011 Mock Draft

1. Buffalo Bills- Jake Locker,QB,Washington

I thought the Bills should have taken a QB in the 2010 draft, especially when Clausen was still sitting there in the 2nd round. Waiting might be a good decision as they can build a team and then get the QB. Locker is the bigger talent also.

2. Cleveland Browns- Julio Jones,WR,Alabama

If Jones gets his hands inconsistincies fixed I think he'll be the 1st WR taken in a loaded WR class. The Browns are weak at WR and have no true number 1. Jones can bring that to the table.

3. St. Louis Rams- AJ Green,WR,Georgia

The Rams took their franchise QB this year, but didn't get him any WR's until the 4th round when they took Mardy Gilyard. If they want Bradford to be successful they need to get him some talent at the WR and TE positions.

4. Kansas City Chiefs- Gabe Carimi,OT,Wisconsin

I still don't think the Chiefs are sold on Brandon Albert at LT and think he would be much better suited at Guard. Many thought the Chiefs would take an early Tackle in this year's draft, but they didn't and you'd have to think it'll likely be a top priority next year.

5. Denver Broncos- Patrick Peterson,CB,LSU

The Broncos have 2 starting CB's that are both over 30 and on the downside of their careers. Peterson has that rare ability to be a top 5 pick with his size, speed, and his ability to be physical.

6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Marcell Dareus,DE,Alabama

The Bucs took a DT in the first two rounds, but failed to adress the DE position in the draft or free agency. There is still a glaring hole there. If Dareus is the pick here their line could be set up to be absolutely loaded with McCoy,Price, and now Dareus.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars- Andrew Luck,QB,Stanford

If Luck lasts this long there could easily be a trade up for someone to acquire him. Jacksonville was unable to land Tim Tebow, but Luck is the bigger talent and will give them a better chance to win. Unfortunately the fans still won't show up. Can you say Los Angeles Jaguars!

8. New England Patriots- Cameron Heyward,DT/DE,Ohio State

The Patriots still haven't found a replacement for Seymour. Heyward would be a good fit in a 3-4 at DE. He also has the versatility to move inside and allow Belichick to throw some different looks at opposing offenses.

9. Detroit Lions- Anthony Castanzo,OT,Boston College

This is an improvement from the top 3 where the Lions usually are picking. I think the Lions have a bright future and are headed in the right direction. If they get Stafford a franchise LT look for them to be a playoff contender within 2-3 years.

10. Seattle Seahawks- Mark Ingram,RB,Alabama

The Seahawks brought in some free agents at RB for the 2010 season, but none of them are as talented as Ingram. Ingram is a big back who can be a bell cow for someone for the next 6-7 years atleast.

11. Arizona Cardinals- Joseph Barksdale,OT,LSU

Look for OT's to start flying off the board like every other draft. The Cards really need someone who can line up across from Brown. Especially with a talented back like Beanie Wells, someone's gotta be able to open some holes.

12. Chicago Bears- DeAndre McDaniel,SS,Clemson

The Bears have a pick in the 1st round for the first time in 3 years. They have some problems at both Safety positions with two average players trying to hold out for more money. I think one of them is gone after this season and McDaniel is brought in.

13. New York Giants- Bruce Carter,OLB,North Carolina

The Giants have holes at LB now, but were unable to adress them early with the needs on the D line. Next year they will land by far the best LB in this draft.

14. Pittsburgh Steelers- Prince Amukamara,CB,Nebraska

I thought the Steelers needed to adress CB early in this year's draft, even with the acquisition of McFadden. Instead they just kept taking LB's a position they were already set at, look for them to adress CB early next year.

15. Atlanta Falcons- Adrian Clayborn,DE,Iowa

This would be a steal for the Falcons getting Clayborn in the middle of the 1st. DE is a huge position of need in Atlanta as Jamal Anderson is officially a bust.

16. Washington Redskins- Robert Quinn,DE,North Carolina

The Tar Heels defense could very well produce 5 1st round picks next year. Quinn will be too much value at this point. I expect Haynesworth to be traded and D line help will be needed.

17. Philadelphia Eagles- Ras-I Dowling,CB,Virginia

I thought the Eagles would take a CB early in this draft, but they gave up some picks trading up for Brandon Graham. After trading Sheldon Brown they will need to take one early next year.

18. Tennessee Titans- Brandon Harris,CB,Miami

The Titans also needed to adress CB as they were torched all season in pass defense. Outside of Cortland Finnegan they have no one. In a pass happy league CB's are a hot commodity.

19. New England Patriots-Micheal Floyd,WR,Notre Dame

The Patriots will be looking for a future number 1 WR to replace the aging Randy Moss who is on the last year of his contract. It's time for a make over at WR for the Pats.

20. Carolina Panthers- Marvin Austin,DT,North Carolina

The Panthers took a blow to the D line losing Julius Peppers. Look for them to add another Carolina guy to the D line although not at the same position. Austin is still someone who can add some pressure on the QB.

21. Miami Dolphins- Jerrell Powe,DT,Ole Miss

Powe is the best pure NT in this draft class. The Dolphins currently have a starter at that position who is in his mid 30's and suspended the first 8 games of this season. Powe won't be able to help for the suspension, but will be some fresh blood next year.

22. San Francisco 49ers- Janoris Jenkins,CB,Florida

The Niners need some cover guys. I thought a CB or a coverage Safety would be taken with one of their 2 first round picks this year. I like what they did though with the 2 O lineman. Their division isn't loaded with passing talent, but if they want to advance in the playoffs they'll need to be able to defend the pass.

23. Houston Texans- Jarvis Jenkins,DT,Clemson

The Texans have 2 excellent DE's and if they can get someone inside who is a threat it will take some double teams away from Okoye and Williams. Jenkins could provide some interior pass rush something they need with Payton Manning in their division.

24. Minnesota Vikings- Mike Pouncey,OG/OC,Florida

The Vikings interior offensive line struggled this past season. If they didn't have Adrian Peterson their running game wouldn't have been effective at all. Look for them to get Peterson some help, with a talent like him you need to make him the focus of your offense.

25. Baltimore Ravens- Kyle Rudolph,TE,Notre Dame

Rudolph is a lot like Todd Heap and will be a good replacement for the aging TE. The Ravens believe they have an exceptional talent at QB. I'm not so sure, but they will try to get him some weapons.

26. Green Bay Packers- Clint Boling,OT,Georgia

The Packers took Bulaga in the first round in this year's draft, but they likely aren't done yet with early round lineman. Both of their Tackles are old and in need of an upgrade, they have a good QB they need to get him some protection.

27. Cincinnati Bengals- Jonathon Baldwin,WR,Pittsburgh

As much as I don't want the Bengals to take a WR in the 1st round next year, I think they're going to have to. Chad will only have a 1 year club option left and will be 33 years old. Baldwin is a 6-5 WR and has great speed with his size. He also has exceptional hands. They could go Safety here, but I'm always for staying true to your draft board and Baldwin is the better value here over Deunta Williams or Rahim Moore, 2 cover Safeties. Baldwin is the big WR that Carson Palmer likes and if they take him they will be set at the WR position for years with Baldwin,Briscoe,Bryant, and Shipley on the team. Especially if they get Chad to stay in Cincinnati, they will have the best WR group from top to bottom in the NFL. WR is a position that is tough to fill and if you have a chance to be set at the position for years you have to take it.

28. San Diego Chargers- Greg Romeus,DE,Pittsburgh

Two players in a row in the first round from the University of Pittsburgh. Romeus will be a versatile player who can play on the line or standing coming off the edge to provide some pressure to the QB.

29. Dallas Cowboys- Deunta Williams,FS,North Carolina

Suprise, another defensive player from North Carolina comes off the board. Their D is going to be rediculous this year. Williams fills a need at cover Safety that the Cowboys were unable to adress this year in the draft.

30. Indianapolis Colts- Ryan Williams,RB,Virginia Tech

The Colts like to take RB's in the 1st round. Williams is a big bell cow type of back that Colts need. Currently they don't have that power back that can get the tough yard or two on 3rd or 4th down, or on the goal line.

31. New Orleans Saints- Allen Bailey,DE,Miami

The Saints are a team that likes to drop everyone into coverage and just bring their front four. Since their offense is so explosive they will often be playing with the lead and will need some talented players up front to get after the QB.

32. New York Jets- Terrance Tolliver,WR,LSU

Braylon Edwards is on the last year of his deal and the Jets are obviously trying to upgrade at WR bringing in Santonio Holmes. I wouldn't be suprised to see Braylon gone after this year and the Jets go with Holmes,Tolliver, and Cotchery in the slot.
