PostHeaderIcon Jermaine Gresham Has A Personal Mentor

Jermaine Gresham is in the best possible place he could have gone in this year's draft. Now that the Bengals re-signed Reggie Kelly. Gresham is likely going to be the opening day starter at TE and is probably the best pure pass catcher the Bengals have had at the position since the 80's. I think Gresham is going to be a complete TE as well.

Reggie Kelly is an excellent player, teammate, and just all around human being. He wants to help Gresham be the best player he can possibly be. A lot of players say they want to mentor the young kids, but alot of the time they don't. Especially if their job is on the line. Kelly is sincere in wanting to do what's best for Gresham and the team. I believe he will be the best veteran mentor for any rookie at any position this year. He's been around the game for years, and has some of the best blocking mechanics in the NFL. He's been an unsung hero for the Bengals and we all saw what happened last year when he went down.

For Gresham he needs to soak in everything he can from Kelly from mechanics, to film study, to taking care of his body. If I'm Gresham, I'm buying a house next door to Kelly. He should be there when Kelly wakes up and be there when Kelly is going to bed. Getting drafted by the Bengals is the best thing that ever happened to Gresham. His odds of being a successful 1st round pick and possible all-pro TE went up considerably when they brought Kelly back. If Gresham eats, breathes, lives with Kelly from now until the end of his first season he should make an instant impact this year and be ready to be a pro bowl TE by next season.
