Summary: Dareus is the top player on the big board heading into the 2010 season. There aren't really any significant weaknesses in his game and I think he has as big of an upside as any player in college football. Dareus currently plays DE, but has played some snaps inside. Many think with his frame and the fact he's so young he could put on weight and play DT in the NFL. I think he could right now as well as DE in a 4-3 or 3-4. Dareus had a coming out party in the National Championship game where he had an int. for a TD and knocked Colt McCoy out of the game. He was named MVP of the game.
For his size he has excellent speed and athleticism. He plays low, with great leverage, and can fire out of his stance with a good initial burst. Saban has had Dareus drop into coverage against TE's and RB's which you rarely see a 290 lb. player do.
